If beverages are classified as more sensitive, for example isotonic sports drinks or unclarified products, you can further enrich them using SSL to also detect trace and scattered infections. The reason for developing ready-for-use nutrient media was the need for efficient and uncomplicated operations. Sampling is as easy as you can imagine because LMC, for example, comes pre-assembled and autoclaved in the right quantity to detect E.coli and coliform bacteria in water.
