Plate Count Agar
Determining total bacterial count in the food and beverage industry
When it comes to quality assurance, counting the number of viable microorganisms in a foodstuff is one of the most important analysis values.
Plate count agar is a ready-to-use agar used in the food and beverage industry to determine the total bacteria count of a product. The medium is also known as bacteria count agar, or casein-peptone dextrose yeast agar, and complies with the specifications of EN ISO 4833 and ISO 17410, as well as the specifications of the FDA-BAM and the American Public Health Association (APHA).
